Oak Harbor DECA Doubles in Size
September 11, 2015
Oak Harbor DECA membership has doubled in size. All students enrolled in business and marketing classes are now able to participate in DECA. There are now two chapters at the high school with over 100 members combined. Mrs. Laurie Good is the new business management instructor at the high school and is the advisor for the newly added chapter. The original DECA chapter is still under the leadership of Mrs. Nadine Scott. The two chapter advisors will be working together to prepare students for careers in business and marketing.
Students enrolled in marketing classes will be a part of the Oak Harbor DECA I chapter and the business students will be members of Oak Harbor DECA II. The addition of the second chapter will provide more students with opportunities for scholarships, community service, and leadership experience. These courses are part of satellite programs provided by Penta Career Center.
“This is a big change for Oak Harbor DECA. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish with more students and the addition of a new chapter as well as a new advisor.”-stated Trevor Sievert Chapter President.
